It’s a cross triathlon

A cross triathlon competition consists of a swim stage, a mountain-biking stage (gravel bike option at Bromont) and a trail-running stage.

It’s also a cross duathlon

It’s also possible to do the events as a duathlon (mountain bike and trail run).

All events (triathlon and duathlon) can be done solo or as a team.

And trail run events

XTERRA Quebec offers a night trail run (from 8pm to 11pm), while XTERRA Bromont also offers various events to be run in a magnificent landscape.

What is “XTERRA”?

XTERRA is the name of a series of international competitions and qualifiers for the “XTERRA World Championship” finals.

The competition began in 1996 in Maui with a single race and has evolved into the XTERRA World Tour with over 100 events in 34 different countries.

XTERRA Québec and XTERRA Bromont will be qualifying races for the World Championship to be held in Molveno, Italy, in September 2025.

And XTERRA in Quebec?

Quebec’s biggest cross triathlon competition is XTERRA Quebec, held at Lac-Delage near Quebec City since 2014.

Added XTERRA Bromont in 2019. XTERRA Tremblant (2019 to 2024) and XTERRA Gaspesia (2022) are also among the XTERRA events held in the province.

How do you qualify for the XTERRA World Championships?

Each event allocates places among the 13 age groups.

• XTERRA Québec allocates 56 places
• XTERRA Bromont allocates 28 places

Each first-place finisher in each category will be awarded a certificate for entry to the World Championships.

Registration and payment of all fees must be completed prior to qualification.
