Choose your race
Standard Triathlon = intermediate level
If you like long distances, are a good climber, are able to stay safe on descents and have a bit of mountain biking in the legs this summer, this is for you.
Sprint Triathlon = beginner-intermediate level
A good balance between an endurance test and a new competition experience. You take the same trails as the participants of the standard distance with an average technical level, so it is accessible for a beginner who is less comfortable on a mountain bike. There are still a few challenges but nothing major. It’s really a very good compromise to start.
Super-Sprint Triathlon = beginner level
Shorter, less climbs and descents, easier trails, more accessible for beginners and for the youngest.
Duathlon Tremblant = beginner-intermediate level
If you are a fan of mountain biking and trail running, but you are not yet keen on swimming, the duathlon will meet your expectations. A trail run loop followed by a mountain bike ride and ending with a second trail run at the height of the most beautiful trail courses in Quebec. Choose your distance according to your endurance capacities and have the chance to travel the Domaine St-Bernard in a unique and memorable way.
MIXTERRA format = beginner-intermediate level
You haven’t made the jump to mountain biking but you love to ride gravel roads and dirt trails without technical passage on a Gravel Bike or Cyclo-Cross type bike, hybrid, fat bike (no road bike or time trial), then the MIXTERRA is for you. We therefore accept all types of bikes suitable for this event. It is important to mention that the race portion is worthy of the most beautiful trail races, lots of singletrack, rocks and roots, steep climbs and descents.
STILL UNDECIDED?
Here are some details:
-
- If cycling is not part of your training regimen, but you want to live the XTERRA Tremblant experience, opt for trail running (Trail) over the distance of your choice. Enjoy an exceptional atmosphere in one of the best and on a superb trail route.
- Mountain bikes with suspensions are strongly recommended for all triathlon and duathlon formats for all our events except for the MIXTERRA format.
- Tremblant’s mountain bike course (20% single tracks) is very different from those of Quebec and Bromont (80-90% single tracks). Tremblant still has its share of challenges with long sustained climbs and rapid descents where experienced pilots are called upon to carefully negotiate the level of risk. At Tremblant, enjoy a very different XTERRA experience on mountain bikes, but end your race on a very technical and pure trail running course.
*MIXTERRA
The MIXTERRA format is a brand new formula.
The MIXTERRA bike course is different from the standard and consists of gravel roads. Several types of bikes are allowed for the MIXTERRA: mountain bike, cyclocross, gravel, hybrid, fat bike (no road bike or time trial).
Cyclocross and gravel bikes are advantageous on this course. The race course is the same as for the standard.
